The Komen Tree!

This year at CWC we had our first annual Komen silent auction. The items doanted were from various departments in the company who created a basket. These baskets were from movie theme, scrapbooking, a Wii, and a tree decorated by elves and all the trimmings were hand made. Well, once I saw the colors I had to have the tree. So my first bid was $300 thinking this would stay for a day I felt I was safe. That is until some of the executives came down the next day to bid on some of the baskets. I had meetings all day and the bidding stopped at 4pm. My team was instructed to go to $500 well at 3:55 someone put that bid in. I was up in a meeting room and I waved to my team 525 and with that the tree was purchased! The money went to a cause near to my heart and by the time I would of bought decorations for a larger tree this year I would of spent what I donated. Overall, our department raised the most money for Komen from that auction. Between myself and our President who is not CEO who won 2 baskets we raised over $1000 just for our department.

So what did I win exactly? I had a small tree decorated with a sample of what was to come, 2 hats, 4 mugs, coffee, hot cocoa, 2 flowers, and a santa. Then the tree! A 7ft Tree with handmade ornaments and decorated by our visual department. I had to do nothing but sit back and relax. I enjoyed the tree for several weeks and had to take it down prior to coming home for the holidays. I have attached some photos of the tree in progress.

Here is Carl (who designed the ornaments), Miranda and Michael ~ The elves who decorated the tree!

First Big Snow in Sandpoint!

Well, Monday night we had about 6-7 inches fall and they fell fast! In about an hour we had a half an inch on the ground and the roads were slick. I finally figured out how to put on my 4-wheel drive for the next day of driving but once I left my house it was clear on the roads. This town does not shut down for a little snow. It snowed an additional inch the next night and now we are waiting for the 3-4 inches tonight and tomorrow. I stuck a coke can in the snow and it covered it which gives you an idea how much snow we had in one night!

Tomorrow is the tree decorating so I will post some photos after the tree is decorated! I am so excited as I got a sneak peak at the colors! Carl could not get all of the decorations in his Jeep so he asked if I could bring the rest home. So the colors are silver and gold with touches of a lighter color of tiffany blue.

Until then.......
