The Komen Tree!

This year at CWC we had our first annual Komen silent auction. The items doanted were from various departments in the company who created a basket. These baskets were from movie theme, scrapbooking, a Wii, and a tree decorated by elves and all the trimmings were hand made. Well, once I saw the colors I had to have the tree. So my first bid was $300 thinking this would stay for a day I felt I was safe. That is until some of the executives came down the next day to bid on some of the baskets. I had meetings all day and the bidding stopped at 4pm. My team was instructed to go to $500 well at 3:55 someone put that bid in. I was up in a meeting room and I waved to my team 525 and with that the tree was purchased! The money went to a cause near to my heart and by the time I would of bought decorations for a larger tree this year I would of spent what I donated. Overall, our department raised the most money for Komen from that auction. Between myself and our President who is not CEO who won 2 baskets we raised over $1000 just for our department.

So what did I win exactly? I had a small tree decorated with a sample of what was to come, 2 hats, 4 mugs, coffee, hot cocoa, 2 flowers, and a santa. Then the tree! A 7ft Tree with handmade ornaments and decorated by our visual department. I had to do nothing but sit back and relax. I enjoyed the tree for several weeks and had to take it down prior to coming home for the holidays. I have attached some photos of the tree in progress.

Here is Carl (who designed the ornaments), Miranda and Michael ~ The elves who decorated the tree!

First Big Snow in Sandpoint!

Well, Monday night we had about 6-7 inches fall and they fell fast! In about an hour we had a half an inch on the ground and the roads were slick. I finally figured out how to put on my 4-wheel drive for the next day of driving but once I left my house it was clear on the roads. This town does not shut down for a little snow. It snowed an additional inch the next night and now we are waiting for the 3-4 inches tonight and tomorrow. I stuck a coke can in the snow and it covered it which gives you an idea how much snow we had in one night!

Tomorrow is the tree decorating so I will post some photos after the tree is decorated! I am so excited as I got a sneak peak at the colors! Carl could not get all of the decorations in his Jeep so he asked if I could bring the rest home. So the colors are silver and gold with touches of a lighter color of tiffany blue.

Until then.......

News from Sandpoint!

So, I have not posted in sometime so I thought I would give you an update on what's new in Sandpoint.

It has finally turned cold and these days it seems like I am living in Seattle. It has rained since I came home from a trip visiting our Parkersburg, WV Distribution Center. Locals say it has normally snowed by now. The ski resort is hoping for snow by Thanksgiving but not sure if that is going to happen. It has snowed on the mountain a couple of times but not enough for the slopes to open.

I can't wait til it snows seeing I am going to learn how to snowboard! I am finally getting settled in my townhouse and will post photos soon. It has been busy at work but when is it not.

Happy Holidays!

So here is my new townhouse in Sandpoint, ID. The only thing it is lacking is AIR CONDITIONING! Yes, apparently here in Idaho it only gets hot 2 months out of the year! However, it is hot hot hot! I have 3 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths and a 2 car garage! Yes I know why do I need this much space well this is all they have in Sandpoint! We are talking double wides are 250,000 to 850,000 if on the lake. It is a small town with not much going on. Walmart is in the next small town with the HomeDepot! Target is 45 minutes away! You have to fly into Spokane, Washington and then an hour and 45 minutes to get to Sandpoint, ID. We are about 65 miles from the Canadian border! Yes, where is my passport? Well still being processed just like everyone elses! Kitchen area looking out to the dining and and living area!
Sneak peek upstairs where there is a loft a full bath and 2 bedrooms! One is an office and the other is for my friends and family that will be making thier way to lovely Sandpoint!
Kitchen! I love all the outlets and it has a gas stove! I don't like the smell when you turn it on!
This is the back side of the townhouses! We have 24 townhouses in the small development! Most of the people work at CWC!
This is the front greenway! The kids in the area love playing in the sprinklers! Nice place to walk or sit outside!

Starting out in the blogging world!

So it seems that everyone these days has a blog. It also seems that everyone has something to say! So yes I guess I have something to say as well. With all the technology in the world it seems that everyones lives are so busy that this becomes the way we find out most about our friends and families. I have to thank the Blanchard sisters for starting blogs and making me think maybe I should have a blog but it truely was not something I was going to due until I read a blog that made me laugh and thought if this guy has one then I could have one. I had hit the wrong key to go back and my mouse was on this link and there it was the funniest blog I have come across. So, I decide I was going to take the plunge into the world of blogging! So more to come....
