July 4th Parade in Sandpoint!

It was a nice July 4th, not to hot! Mickey's husband owns a art gallery in town on the main route of the parade so we had great seats to watch! I was in Sandpoint last year for the parade and it was so hot I decided to watch from my hotel room; I had only been here about 2 weeks at that time. So this year it was exciting to see the parade up close! The children's parade was first and basically it is a parade of children dressed up in Red, White and Blue. I told Lindsay, one of my employees, that she would have to dress her son up next year and pull him in a wagon. After the children's parade we had about an hour until the main event. Mickey had set up a small breakfast of fruit and cheeses for us to eat before the parade. The parade started off with the local law enforcement and then on to the other floats and participants. Check out the photos below.

Local Bagpipe Club ~ they were really good!

Had to take a picture of the kids sitting next to us. They were so cute and excited about the parade.

This float had the kids building the flag as they drove through the parade

Smokey kept loosing his pants and sat down as I took this picture. The next one is a little better.

Just like Smokey apparently there is a mascot for the waterways. He is a chipmunk. I can't remember his name, sorry.

Zany Zebra, a store in town had a lawn mover brigade.

These pups were just too cute! They had about 12 of them.

A reminder of home. The Shriner's had the moonshiners come out and entertain us.

The police was caring off one of the moonshiners

The moonshiners official vehicle

Here are some kids after the parade playing in the water fountain in town.

After the parade I went home to get my new bike and ride into town to see Lindsay's new house and let her know we had been invited to Mickey's for a BBQ that evening. Sandpoint has some great fireworks but this year I thought it would be nice to relax and not be in the mass crowd. So off to Mickey's we went, she lives in a neighborhood of about 20 homes and they have lake access which includes a nice lawn with a small beach for all the residents to use. It was like having the lake right in your backyard. We had hamburgers and hotdogs, I made pasta salad which everyone seemed to like. Once it got dark Abigail wanted to start the fireworks they picked up earlier that day. It is illegal to have the up in the sky fireworks in town but you can get them on the Indian reservations. Across the lake from where we were was Georgia's house, who is our President and CMO, in the area where her house was they had some great up in the air fireworks as well as the house next to where we were on the lake. However, the best fireworks were the ones we set off ourselves. Abigail was so excited. It reminded me of when we used to gather as a family at my grandparents and the whole neighborhood would come over for a BBQ and fireworks. Thanks Mickey for a great day!

Lost in the 50's Weekend Photos

As promised when I found my cable for my camera I would post the Lost in the 50's photos.

Everyone came out to the parade. Here is Joe G taking photos of some creekers kids.

We had great seats to view the parade in front of the gallery but I think this young guy had the best seat.

This old truck carried some Sandpoint High School Football players.

After the Lost in the 50's Parade they had a Dance Party. As you can see some of the kids and adults dressed up in 50's attire.

The parade was on Friday and then on Saturday they closed off the main road and re-routed traffic and had all 550 cars parked on the street so you could get a up close of all the cars. Each night they had a concert at the fair grounds with a 50's act.

Sorry ~ I have not posted in a while!

Hello from Idaho! It has been cold here and yes it is June! Summer is not here as of yet. We have been in the 50's and lower 60's on some days. It snowed on the mountain last Friday. It was nice the weekend of Lost in the 50's which is a huge car show. Remember this town has a population of around 8300 and the car show had 550 entries. WOW! It's a Big thing for this little town. I will post some photos of some of the cars that were in the parade when I find my camera cord.

Hope everything is going good in your world. Till next time!

Finally!

Hello all!
It is finally starting to feel a little like Spring! It is suppose to be in the 50's ~ Can you say WOW that is warm? Yes, we still have snow in big piles around town and in front lawns but hopefully it will melt someday.

Busy Month here at work we have our Training Store Managers coming up next week and yet another CWCU which is our University for new Managers, we also have our Regional Managers coming up at the same time as CWCU! WOW! Yes, I have to present at these functions in some way so I will be busy.

On another subject is anyone watching the bachelor? I am and I have to say he needs to get rid of the actress. I had seen her somewhere and once she let him know who her Dad was I knew I had seen her on some "my parent is" type show. She is way to high maintenance for him.

I will leave you with another crazy show to check out which is High School Reunion on the TVLand Channel. I was flipping channels and started watching it and I laugh at how the people on the show have changed but yet not really changed. I just had a thought and I am 3 years away from my 20th reunion. I did not go to the 5th or 10th so maybe the 20th will be the one or maybe not. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Have a great day and keep it real!

Is it Spring?

Did someone say Spring? Not here my friends! It snowed on the first day of spring and again on the second day of Spring and even though it did not stick to the pavement it still snowed. I will say at least I can now get into my correct parking space at my condo since the snow 5 ft of snow has now melted.

Life is good in Sandpoint now that it is in the 40's. The mountain received 5 new inches of snow the Saturday before Easter. WOW if only I could ski! I have decided that I really don't want to brake any bones this year so I am waiting for Alana (one of my co-workers) to have her baby so she can get out there and teach me how to Snowboard but that really looks like next year.

Hope all is well in your world until next time....

Did someone order snow?

Snow Snow and more Snow! Here are some photos of all the snow around town and near where I live. Enjoy! I can't wait till it melts. They finally decided to try and truck some of this snow out of town, thankfully!

Check out the ice coming off the roof!

Here is the front of my new place.

Pile of snow in my parking lot. Just a little snow don't you think?

Here is where they have plowed the sidewalk and still we have snow on it. I can't believe how much it snows. It is like rain but in snow form!!!

I now have a carport instead of a garage and this is the house that I look at where I park. Check out the amount of snow they have in the back of thier house. They have not even shoveled thier roof.

More Moving Drama!

The big move has come and stayed! I have moved into the smallest place I have ever lived! All the stuff from my gararge is in my 2nd bedroom and I have more to get out of the garage. My friend, Jenny and her husband, Dave and his little brother helped me move the big stuff! Since moving to Sandpoint I have bought some new furniture seeing my taste has changed from the last time I lived in a house! Remember when I moved to Sandpoint all my furniture was in storage. So this meant that some stuff I had in my loft area at the old place had to go!! Jenny had told me her brother needed some furniture since his roommate had moved out with all the furniture. So Christopher came and took the famous Wylie blue plaid couches which I have had forever, a desk -$20 when I worked at staples, an old entertainment center (that old sauder furniture - country style wood), 1 coffee table and end table my nannie had given me the first time I moved out in 95 or 96 and a high breakfast table the wylie's gave me. Christopher made out like a bandit! I was just grateful I did not have to find someone to come take it off. I will miss the couches ~ Dave's brother said I have too much stuff for someone who is single. I told him his girlfirend Cat who works at CWC can thank me later seeing he will never say a thing to her again about having too much stuff. SO MY GOAL for 2008 is to get rid of anything I do not use!

I still have some clothes to move and some boxes in the garage otherwise, everything is all at the new place! Once everything settles down and I get everything in it's place I will post photos as I sit in front of my new gas fireplace! It is so pretty!
Have a great week!

Moving and only after 6 months!

Here is my new view from my living room!

So I came home from Knoxville to only receive a call from a lady whom I had never spoke to before asking me where my rent check was...well it took me off guard and I said to her it had been paid to the Property Management Company. Only to hear her tell me that she has broken the contract with them and my rent should have gone to her seeing she is the new owner of the property. She also stated that she would not be renewing my lease because she said she was moving in. I could not believe my hears. Previously I had asked the previous owner and builder if he was selling and if so are the new owners keeping the property as a rental ~ WOW is this really happening to me! So, the good part was I could stay until she sold her place and then I would have a 30 day notice and would have to move. It is hard to find something in Sandpoint, ID that is descent. I called the Property Management Company who told me legally if I moved out now she could not do anything because I no longer had a lease with her or them because she was not requiring me to sign something new. Now the Property Management Company was hot on finding me something else that is until the lady who owns my property decided she could not afford 2 mortgages and wanted to list the property with them again so, my Property Management Company wanted me to stay and they would be on the look out for something when my lease was up. Well, As I said before I would have to sign another lease. I did not want to be looking for something in the summer because even though we are a ski resort we have more people in town in the summer! I decided it was time to look and that I was moving. I found something and called the Property Management Company to show it to me and found out that the person who was helping me is now out with a broken leg for the next 3 weeks. So I took matters in to my own hands and had BOB another guy who works at the Property Management Company show me a couple of condos in town and decided I would have a better view and it might not be as quite since I will now be closer to the railroad tracks but at least it is new, has air conditioning (I did not have air in my current place) and best of all is cheaper and I would not have the hassle with not knowing when I would have to move. The funny thing about this is that the house the woman is trying to sell is listed for $749,500. Yes you read that right! It is not on the lake, it has not been upgraded and does not have a pool. It is in a small condo community with about 10-12 houses where they have lake access and a community pool but really you can get a NEW house on a golf course or on the lake for that amount of money. I think she knows she is going to be sitting on it for sometime.

After all that I have found a nice place in town about 2 miles from my current house. Here are some photos I took today when I got stuck in the snow trying to move some boxes. There is a small hill going in to the parking lot and the plows had not touched the hill so a nice guy stopped and pushed me up the hill. Yes, I had my 4 wheel drive on but still got stuck and could not even back up.

Photo of the kitchen and the fireplace in the living room. I already started taking items from my current kitchen over to my new kitchen! I will miss my frig it has ice and water in the front and the new one does not! Most of all since I am talking about missing things will be the Garage!!!!

The front windows in the living room!

Bedroom ~ Not much of a view from the backrooms. I look at the 1 bedroom units and a sidewalk.

Guest Bathroom ~ it has a tub!!

Master bath ~ no tub just a shower and 2nd closet in the master.

Laundry Room and it even has a sink and lots of cabinets. It comes with a washer and dryer but I already have a set.

Living room and view from to back hallway.
